Own device or on-board pants?

The operator may have a big dilemma regarding which solution to offer to its users.

The first point to take into account is the price, obviously an own device solution is cheaper by avoiding the cost of installing screens in the vehicle, but the key should not only be the price, but also the features you want to provide to your users.

Obviously, it is very difficult for an entire passage to be equipped with suitable terminals for the correct viewing of content, although this aspect tends not to be a problem since smart devices are more implanted every day, or perhaps even carrying them, the having accessories, or a charged battery frustrates the display of the content offered.

In that aspect, a solution of fixed screens is more democratic and does not create differences.

But perhaps, we do want to create differences, just as we want to distinguish certain seats by creating a higher class that we will invoice slightly more, and we will probably not only distinguish them by the fact of offering them a fixed screen but also by a differentiated offer of content. If an operator invoiced an additional 1 euro for each Premium seat with a screen (and Premium content) in 45 days, the investment in screens would have been amortized. In this case, the ideal solution is to permanently install part of the seats and create this differentiated offer.

Another aspect to take into account is advertising. If we want our income to come from there, a fixed solution is slightly more effective, since it reaches more people and they do not have the option of looking for other alternatives.
