Over the past five years, we have been able to observe more and more that the means of transport have begun to bet heavily on the installation of various entertainment equipment on board coaches with one main objective: to increase their offers of services, stand out from the competition and the increase in the number of passengers who see this transport as an alternative to the train, the plane and even the car.
And among all these offers of entertainment on board, we find satellite television . A new system that arrives with the development of new parabolic antennas able to track all kinds of satellites automatically.

Digital satellite television in moving vehicles
satellite television has been used as a distraction system for many years, but mostly in fixed locations, such as private residences, campsites, caravans, boats… But in recent years where we have been able to find on the market different antennas that allow the reception of satellites on moving vehicles such as the bus in order to be able to enjoy satellite television on the road .

What do I need to be able to watch live TV in the coach?

• An antenna that allows you to be oriented at any time to the chosen satellite.
• A digital channel tuner (for “open” channels) or a decoder (for channels belonging to a paying platform).
• A monitor capable of displaying the content.

What types of satellite antennas for vehicles are there on the market?

Il existe principalement deux modèles d'antennes satellites spécialement conçus pour une utilisation sur des autocars :
Antennas of profil bas « Phased Array »" 16-24 cm of hauteur. AZIMUT FLATSAT
• Antennes de profil classique 24-34 cm de hauteur.

LOW PROFILE

There are two main differences:
• at the design level: the main difference is the internal configuration . Low profile antennas are daisy chained with identical, separate small antennas with the same orientation and feed, while conventional profile antennas feature a parabolic reflector of configurable diameter depending on the signal strength needed to display the channels from different satellites.
•at the technical level: the fundamental difference is linked to the elevation angle at which each of the antennas can work. Low profile antennas generally work with smaller elevation angles than conventional antennas. This causes a complication when using it in areas far from the Equator, or with satellites that have a very high elevation angle.

What live satellite television services can we offer to customers?

Basically, currently there are three services that can be offered to passengers with the installation of a satellite dish capable of receiving the moving signal of the chosen satellite:
• Open satellite TV channels with the connection of the satellite dish to the receiver and the vehicle screen.
Payment channels offered by any type of payment platform, by simply installing the decoder of the pre-selected channels.
In Spain, Portugal and the south of France it is possible to offer the classic TNT channels by installing an antenna, a TNT-SAT satellite TNT receiver.
Currently the installation of live satellite television is the most economical investment for companies that wish to provide a simple and direct form of quality entertainment to their passengers.
