What kind of television channels can I watch when traveling by bus?

We discussed in our previous post that it is already possible to watch live television via satellite on board buses. It seems logical then to focus in this new post on what the different alternatives are for installing the systems on the market today, especially in this way to get an idea of what kind of TV channels and platforms we can offer to our customers.

But first, let's take a look back at the types of satellite antennas on the market right now that we described in the previous post, there are two of them:

-low profile, "Phased Array", with a height between 16 and 18 cm

-a traditional profile, with a height between 24 and 34 cm

By installing one of these two antennas, we have access to 3 different solutions, each offering us different live TV channels in the bus via satellite.

Live TV channels via satellite

This option makes it possible to enjoy the TV channels via satellite that are freely offered, by simply installing a satellite antenna in the bus and choosing the satellite to which we want to connect.

Payment platforms

The second option offered by satellite television in the bus is to connect to the payment platforms in each country and thus have access to codified contents. The option can be easily combined with the first option, tuning to the free channels, so that the passenger in the bus can enjoy both free and pay channels at the same time, increasing the entertainment options on board.

Channels via TDT Satellite Television

The reception of TDT channels outside built-up areas is currently very difficult and this makes it almost impossible to watch these channels when we are on the road. The solution is simple, it is enough to install an antenna together with a satellite decoder for TDT channels, in this way the bus can receive TDT channels not only in Spain, but also in Portugal and the South of France.

DTT op interurbane journey

On interurban areas where there is a good TDT signal, it is often more interesting to offer national channels instead of satellite television. In this case, the most suitable solution is the installation of a modern TDT antenna together with a TDT receiver, so that these channels can be tuned in the areas where there is coverage.

This solution is interesting if you want to offer the same channels as those we normally tune to at home.
