ADAS: Advanced driver-assistance system

Azimut safety systems are based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Precision is the main characteristic of these systems, thanks to the development of algorithms based on Deep Learning, and therefore the continuous improvement of performance. 95% of accidents could be avoided if the driver were notified 3 seconds before a hazardous situation occurred. Azimut offers users advanced safety systems which offer the driver these few seconds, allowing them to make safe decisions.

How does it work?

Through the sensors of the cameras, whether during the day or at night (using infrared), traffic elements are detected.

Pedestrian detection
(PCW, Pedestrian Collision Warning)

  When the System detects pedestrians in front of the vehicle, it alerts the driver with a sound and visual alarm on the device the driver’s dashboard.
This allows the driver to make correct decisions and avoid risk situations, preventing a collision.

Lane change alert system
(LDW, Lane Departure Warning)

  The cameras continuously detect the lane markings on the road, whether continuous or discontinuous. When the driver changes lane without having used the indicators, the system understands the change to have been involuntary, and alerts the driver with a warning light and sound. This prevents the driver entering a potential risk situation and allows decisions to be made to rectify the course of the vehicle and avoid a potential accident.

Distance control
(HMW, Headway Monitoring Warning)

The Azimut ADAS System continuously detects and measures the distance from the vehicle to other vehicles in front of it. A two digit number is shown, reflecting the headway, in seconds, of the vehicle in front. Only values of 2.5 seconds or less are shown. Green indicates safe headway, and red indicates unsafe headway.

(FCW, Forward Collision Warning)

The driver alert device provides icons and voice alerts when the minimum braking distance is less than configured for the vehicle. The Driver has a 1.4 inch screen which emits alert sounds and shows icons with the different situations described.
The distance of the vehicle, the speed limit icon (upper left corner), the pedestrian collision warning (central upper section), the DSM alarm (upper right corner), etc. can be shown on the screen simultaneously.

The system can be connected to an on-board server on the vehicle which records everything the camera captures.
