When companies decide to implement bus wifi networks, whether corporate or internal use as a public service to its customers, must analyse several factors that influence the performance, management and efficiency of the network. In this sense, the choice of router is essential, they must take into account not only issues related to hardware Where I will locate? What are the needs of the environment? But also related to the software. Is it a mobile environment? Am I going to give service to multiple users simultaneously?
To Choose the right router, Which it´s going to be its allocation
In order to choose the best router some preliminary questions have to be answered: ¿Which is the required use? ¿Which is the environment where it´s going to be allocate? These are only examples of how the environment in where the devices are installed fully affects the choice of the routers. In the same way a bus company who decides to install wifi routers in its fleet to provide that service to its passengers, must ensure that the chosen routers at the reach the hardware requirements of the environment:
- Must be a system with EMC certification in order to install on vehicles
- Shall be constructed with no moving parts or welding in electronics that can be damaged by vibration and movement of the bus
- Has to offer the possibility to extend the locations of their data and wifi antennas to the most interesting places depending on the location of the router itself.
Is an specific software required for the Bus&Coach Sector?
So far we have discussed how the selection of the hardware in influenced by the requirements involved in the bus&coach sector, but what about the software? Are we also conditioned by the use requirements? The answer is YES.
Like any other software, it has to be specific to the sector for which is intended. For example the software requirements of an application developed to manage a large company are not the same to the requirements of a small company focused in the development of projects.
At this point, the Bus&Coach Sector requires special software requirements in order to offer the wifi service to the passengers, basically motivated by two factors:

Why we don´t have to choose a solution not designed for the Public Transport
The election of a solution not designed to deal with the requirements of the bus sector, will result in a worse service to the passenger. Not only a worse coverage and connectivity but also an absence of fuctionalities linked to the configuration and management of the network by the transport operator.
This absence drifts in conections with an extremely high bandwiths , entry in not recommended websites, high data consume by some customers which reduces extremely the data volume contracted to the telecomm operator. Ultimately we generate a bad perception regarding the wifi service offered by the company, damaging also the image and value of the transport operator.
