In our previous post we commented that it is now possible to start enjoying live satellite television on board buses and coaches. It would seem logical that this new blog post would focus on determining what are the different system installation alternatives that we currently have available on the market, especially to get an idea of what kind of television channels and platforms we are going to be able to offer to our clients .
But before we must remember the types of satellite dishes that currently exist in the market and that we already discussed in the previous publication, there are basically two:
– low profile, “Phased Array ”, with a height between 16 and 18 cm
– conventional profile , between 24 and 34 cm high.
By installing any of them we can enjoy three different solutions that will offer us different live satellite television channels on the bus .
This option offers the possibility of being able to enjoy the satellite television channels that are currently offered free to air, simply by installing a satellite antenna on the bus or coach and selecting the satellite to which we want to connect.
The second possibility offered by satellite television on the bus is to connect to existing payment platforms in each country , and thus have access to all encrypted content. This option is completely compatible with the previous one, the simultaneous tuning of open channels, so that the bus or coach passenger will be able to enjoy open and pay channels at the same time , thus multiplying the entertainment options on board. .
The reception of DTT channels outside urban centers is currently very complicated and makes it almost impossible to be able to enjoy these channels whenever we are on the road. The solution is simple, it is enough to install an antenna together with a satellite decoder for DTT channels, in this way the bus will be able to receive DTT channels not only in Spain, but also in Portugal and the south of France .
In intercity routes where there is good DTT signal coverage, it is often more interesting to offer the national channels offered by digital terrestrial television instead of satellite television. In this case, the most appropriate solution involves the installation of a state-of-the -art DTT antenna that, together with a DTT receiver, will allow the tuning of these channels in areas where coverage is available.
This is a very interesting solution when you want to offer the same television channels that you normally tune in at home .
