Starting from the premise that what we want to understand is how legislation works, we must first talk about copyright. Any work, whether audiovisual or not, has an author / authors. In the film industry we have different authors within the same work: director, screenwriter, composer of the music and the director of photography. The form of economic return of these authors is through the concepts that concern the exhibition of the titles.
There are 3 steps that we must follow to be within the law and thus avoid being sanctioned when showing movies and series.
- License the exhibition license: Each content has its own authors. The rights to movies and series are exclusive to certain studios. Examples of studios are Warner Bros, Sony, Disney, etc.

- Acquire the digital file through a studio-approved lab: In order for a studio to approve the purchase of a film or series, it must be processed in a lab that complies with conditions established by the studios. It is not permitted to show content that has been acquired privately, for example, by purchasing the DVD at a regular point of sale. The digital files of the contents that we want to exhibit must be acquired through a laboratory approved by the studios.
All films and series provided by Azimut have been acquired in a manner that does not involve a possible penalty for the operator.
- DRM certification: There is a standard to fight against piracy once the digital file leaves the laboratory. The acronym DRM (Digital Rights Management) establishes that the management of the content is carried out in a secure environment that does not allow the downloading, reproduction or copying of that digital file on another device not approved by the studios, thus respecting the established requirements.
To obtain this certification both the system and the service structure must have been approved. It is not an easy certification to obtain or maintain due to the high level of requirements it has. We must not forget that not having this certification exhibiting content is a serious detriment to the work of an author.
It is important to know that the system we are using in our vehicles is approved.
