Earn income from your entertainment system

In some way, the entertainment platform is a source of valuable content for the passenger. Everyone knows that entertainment is appropriate for bus travel, as passengers want to be distracted and want to have a faster ride. There are many possible strategies that can be applied to make the platform a source of income.

Let's start with the simplest. To charge for entertainment:

If you are able to charge 1 euro per ride for entertainment (we're sure that would be acceptable), the platform's investment in a bus will be returned in 100 rides. If you have a fleet of 200 buses with a daily trip, your sales will exceed 2.6 million of your investment. This is what we call pay per access .

But you may not want to charge directly for entertainment. Only for those who want to pay directly for it. So it has to include access control, authentication and an entrance to banks for credit card payment (as well as entrances to other types of payment such as wallets or PayPal).

This method, of course, is not going to be as successful as direct charging, but it might be good enough. Using the example above, a fleet of 200 buses with daily trips, assuming a success of 30% (15 euros per trip), will return the investment in 333 trips. The excess income will be €100,000 at the end of the first year and €1.2 million at the end of the second year.

Within the payment for access there are other different strategies in that it is possible to distinguish between Premium content and regular content, having access in some way to everyone on one platform or another (it could be said that it would be as if it practically had two platforms different).

A different form of payment is with loyalty programs . Somehow loyalty rewards cost transport operators money and this is one way to spend that money.

You can also have an alternative business of renting a tablet. This would be a special slave-to-master hardware server that allows people to connect with entertainment. If you could logistically manage the delivery and collection, that would be a guarantee of success.

We will develop all possible business models to help members choose the best possible strategy.

There is a different case that is what we call pay per view . Pay-per-view is the same concept but applied directly to a particular content (a movie, a football match…) It is flexible, you do not have a set price.

What is important in this model is that direct payment is necessary and you have to share the revenue with the owner of the digital rights of the content.
