License to broadcast audiovisual content in the coach. What license do I need?

Licenses for the broadcasting of audiovisual content in an individual entertainment system in the coach are one of the themes that raise the most doubts. What kind of license do I need to stream movies? What about other content such as live TV, music etc? These are some questions that we will answer.

All audiovisual content broadcast in public must be subject to prior authorization, and this is obtained with the corresponding license for broadcasting audiovisual content. But it is not a single license for all types of content, it varies depending on the type of broadcast. The distinction is between movies and others like live TV, music etc…

License to broadcast films

The distribution of films is covered by the license of the MPLC company. This can be obtained directly from MPLC in Spain, although the quickest and most convenient option for the company is for the distributor of the onboard entertainment system to handle the license, a procedure that will save the business of time and allow it to concentrate on its activity without the need to waste time with the managements and forms for the license.

Broadcast of other audiovisual content

The broadcasting of other types of content, such as live television, music … is subject to other licenses which, this time, the transport company must make the procedure directly for the licenses with the rights management entities of intellectual property.

Generally, licenses are generally one-time payments for the life of the coach, unlike film licenses which, as we have seen before, are renewable annually.
