As mentioned in the previous post, it is now possible to enjoy live satellite TV on board buses. It seems logical that, for this reason, in this blog we deal with the different alternatives for installing the system that we currently have on the market, above all to get an idea of the television programs and platforms that we can offer our customers .
But before that we must again point out the types of satellite antennas that currently exist on the market and about which we commented in the previous post.
– low profile “phased array”, a height of 16 to 18cm.
– with conventional profile, from 24 to 34cm in height.
Installing any of the two antennas, we can enjoy three different solutions that will offer us different live satellite TV programs on the bus .
By installing a satellite dish on the bus and choosing the satellite we want to connect to, we can enjoy free-to -air satellite TV channels .
The second option would be to connect to the existing payment platforms in the respective country in order to have access to the coded content.
This option is fully compatible with the previous one. The simultaneous tuning of the free-to-air programs allows the bus passenger to simultaneously enjoy both free-to-air and pay TV channels, thus increasing the entertainment options on board.
Reception of DTT channels outside of urban areas is currently very difficult, making it practically impossible to enjoy these TV programs while driving. The solution is simple: by installing an antenna and a DTT satellite decoder , the bus can receive DTT stations not only in Spain, but also in Portugal and southern France .
For cross-country journeys where there is good DTT signal reception, the national DTT channels prove more interesting than satellite TV.
In this case, the most appropriate solution is to install a latest generation DTT antenna that, together with a digital television receiver, tunes the channels in areas with good signal reception.
This is a very interesting solution if we intend to offer the same TV programs as at home.
